Strategic Planning for Visitors to Devon

Sometimes it’s good to look down the cliff face and see how far we’ve climbed.

Visit Devon’s Board and Marketing Committee met for a brain-straining but highly invigorating strategic planning day today, at the ever-hospitable University of Exeter campus. We discussed everything from challenges – including Brexit, of course – to long-term goals and quick wins. But, importantly, we also took the time to acknowledge how much Visit Devon – which is run largely by volunteers – has achieved in a few short years.

Whichever metric or demographic we used, the numbers were up – from international recognition of the county’s charms to visitor numbers and leisure spend.

The future for Devon’s booming visitor economy looks even more exciting and we can’t wait to reveal more of our plans at the next Members’ and General Updates, early next year. Watch this space!
